Simply the best online poker

InterCasino online poker

On the internet, longevity says a lot. And InterCasino, which has been in business since 1996, has a respectability that can only be envied by its competitors.

For this reason, it is able to rely on quality of service, rather than the high-pressure sales techniques that are often associated with online gambling. This hasn't gone unnoticed by Gambling Online magazine, which voted InterCasino the "Best Online Casino" for five years in succession from 2003 to 2007.

Are you a cautious gambler, or making your first foray into the exciting world of Roulette, Slots, Blackjack and Video Poker? No problem. Here, you can also play for free/fun in the casino's practice mode.

InterCasino promises that getting started will be "as easy as 1,2,3", and this certainly proved to be the case. On the relevant page, you are immediately presented with a simple, straightforward choice: (1) "Click and download our casino for 300+ games", or (2) "Play right now on our Instant Play online casino for up to 120 games".

If you opt for No 1, you will be talked through the download process, so that even a computer novice will encounter no problems. You won't have to worry about any of your existing programmes being affected, as all your personal data will be fully protected. As a backup, there is also 24/7 customer service support to deal with any questions that arise.

But that's not all. "As a new player at InterCasino, you can instantly claim our fantastic welcome bonus," the casino says. "We will match your first deposit 100% up to a maximum of $250."

InterCasino has attractive graphics, a clean interface, easy navigability, excellent payout percentages, and a number of solid payment options. It uses the reliable Cryptologic software for a great overall experience.

Finally, you don't have to be an English speaker to enjoy the best online casino. Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish are also available.

  • The trials and tribulations of finding a job

I guess I'm lucky: As a journalist, I reported on other people's employment problems, but never experienced such problems myself. But shortly before I finally retired — in 2011 at the age of 70 — I calculated that, after allowing for inflation, I was making less money than I had made as a 19-year-old tram conductor in Melbourne in 1960.

    The vicious circle of commerce

From time to time, I have been struck by how old some shopkeepers are. I suspect that, in some sectors of retailing, only people aged 65+, who receive the state pension, are able to survive in the job. If they were completely dependent on their work income, they wouldn't be able to make ends meet.

Borrow on your car . . . and keep driving it

    www.raloan.com

"I would like to sum Rapid Auto Loans up in one word, GREAT! They were phenomenal to me and my family during the most difficult time in our lives."

The above comment, from "Princess Green" at Yahoo! Reviews, is typical of the many reviews posted on the site. In fact, the reviews are so good, and the reviewers so unstinting in their praise for Rapid Auto Loans' service, that I stopped reading them after about No 50.

Of course, there are one or two exceptions. You can't please everyone — even if you make the efforts that RAL clearly makes to ensure its clients get the best deal possible.

And what is this deal? Well, it goes like this: Using your car or other vehicle as collateral, you can get cash today to meet an emergency, regardless of your credit record (or lack of one). The sums mentioned on the RAL website range from $500 to $5000, and come with interest rates as low as 1.5% a month.

"We will lend you money when no one else will," the prospective borrower is assured. And just in case the client imagines having to struggle around town on foot, the assurance comes with a promise that he or she will still be able to drive the vehicle.

Another point to keep in mind in that the term "vehicle" also includes motorbikes and even Jet Skis. Flexibility is the keynote at Rapid Auto Loans, which takes pride in its honesty and integrity. Here, the client can be sure that all aspects of his or her transaction will be transparent, and that all data will be accessible, via the website, 24 hours per day.

Finally, customer service personnel are available from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, for live assistance with accounts.

To get started, all you have to do is fill out the form on the website, www.raloan.com, or call the number for instant phone approval.

    Overload at Work and Income

The newspaper headline reads "Unemployment hits 13-year high". I have heard, however, that there are certain areas — farming and manufacturing, for example — where there are jobs available, but where New Zealanders prefer not to work. I guess people want to stay where the bright lights are.

The cartoon, by Malcolm Evans, is from the Manawatu Standard of November 9, 2012.

NOTE: The comment by the little man in the bottom, right-hand corner is "Funny that!"

    'Housing package' a Titanic enterprise?

Prime Minister John Key's optimism takes a biff from Labour Party leader David Shearer. But here, in Palmerston North, you can still get a nice little house for $230,000 to $250,000. If you're short of money, you might settle for a rather run-down place costing about $180,000.
